Mahjoub vs Faglier: Two Heavyweights Make Their UFC Debuts in Edmonton

Two newcomers, one heavyweight fight. Javad Mahjoub and Joel Faglier both make their UFC debuts on Saturday, Oct. 17, when UFC Fight Night: Buckley vs Malott comes to Rogers Place in Edmonton.

There is no tale of the tape to run here yet. Neither fighter has a record listed on UFC.com, and neither has UFC stats, so there are no strike rates, takedown numbers or reach figures to compare. What we do know is the age gap: Mahjoub is 35, Faglier 25. That's a full decade between them, and both start from scratch in the biggest promotion in the sport.

The question that matters: which of the two settles in first and shows he belongs on the UFC stage?

The card opens at 3 p.m. local time, with the main card at 6 p.m. Get your seat: UFC Fight Night Edmonton tickets for Oct. 17.
