Medić vs Holland Preview: Medić's 3:42 Average vs Holland's 10-Inch Reach Edge

Uroš Medić doesn't hang around. His UFC fights average 3:42, and 11 of his 14 wins were first-round finishes. At UFC 334 at Madison Square Garden on November 14, the #12 welterweight from Serbia ("The Doctor," 14-3) meets Kevin Holland ("Trailblazer," 29-15), an American with 14 knockouts and nine submissions on his record.

Here's how they stack up:

• Size: Holland is 6-foot-3 to Medić's 6-foot-1 and owns a 10-inch reach advantage, 81 inches to 71.
• Output: Medić lands 5.77 significant strikes per minute at 61% accuracy; Holland lands 4.24 at 50%.
• Power: a 3.72 knockdown average for Medić, 0.32 for Holland.
• Finishes: 12 of Medić's 14 wins came by KO/TKO (86%), the other two by submission, none on the scorecards. Holland's 29 wins break down into 14 knockouts, nine submissions and six decisions, with 13 first-round finishes.
• Grappling: Holland averages 0.79 takedowns and 0.60 submission attempts per 15 minutes; Medić averages 0.34 and zero.
• Defense: neither man is hard to hit. Medić absorbs 3.40 significant strikes a minute with 57% striking defense and 56% takedown defense; Holland absorbs 3.21 with 50% and 58%, so both can be hurt and both can be taken down.

One detail stands out in Medić's profile: 28% of his significant strikes land on the ground despite that low takedown rate, with 61% standing and 11% in the clinch. Holland does most of his work on the feet (76%), with 13% in the clinch and 11% on the mat, and he has landed 1,371 of 2,753 significant strike attempts since his UFC debut in August 2018. Medić, who arrived in March 2021, has landed 256 of 421. Both men are 33.

Can Medić close a 10-inch reach gap and land early, or can Holland keep him at range and drag it out toward his 10:47 average?
