Sadykhov vs Nascimento at UFC 334: Volume Meets Defense

Nazim Sadykhov lands 4.69 significant strikes a minute. Jefferson Nascimento lands 2.42. Sadykhov averages 0.65 knockdowns; Nascimento has yet to score one in the UFC. On paper, the lightweight bout between the Azerbaijani and the Brazilian at UFC 334, November 14 at Madison Square Garden, is a contrast in pace.

Sadykhov, 32, known as "Black Wolf," is 11-3-1 and has competed in the UFC since February 2023. He is a finisher: eight of his 11 wins came by knockout (73%), two by submission and one by decision, with four first-round finishes. He mixes it up: 69% of his strikes land at range, 18% in the clinch and 12% on the ground. He connects on 49% and adds 1.08 takedowns per 15 minutes. The weak spot is defense. He absorbs 5.42 significant strikes a minute, more than he lands, and avoids just 49%. He does stop 72% of takedown attempts.

Nascimento, 27, goes by "Toddynho" and is 13-1. He made his Octagon debut in June 2026, so the sample is thin: 35 significant strikes, 94% of them standing, at the same 49% accuracy. He absorbs 2.56 a minute with 57% striking defense and 67% takedown defense, and his UFC numbers show no takedowns or submission attempts. His wins break down into five knockouts, five decisions and three submissions, with three first-round finishes, and his average fight time is 14:28 against Sadykhov's 8:41.

Sadykhov is also two inches taller, 5'10" to 5'8", and has a far bigger body of work: 326 significant strikes landed in the Octagon. On the mat, he averages 0.22 submission attempts per 15 minutes.

The real question is whether Nascimento's tighter defense can blunt the Azerbaijani's volume, or whether Sadykhov's output and power take over.
