Sezinando vs Berggren Preview: Two First-Round Finishers at Welterweight

Between them, Rodrigo Sezinando and Theodor "Simba" Berggren own 11 first-round finishes, five for the Brazilian and six for the Swede. When the two welterweights share the Octagon at Meta APEX in Las Vegas on Saturday, Oct. 31, nobody should be heading for the concession stand. UFC Fight Night opens at 2 p.m. local time, with the main card at 5 p.m.

Sezinando, 27, is 9-2-0 with four knockouts, two submissions and three decisions, and he has been in the UFC since August 2025. Berggren, 26, is 8-4-0 and has never needed the judges for a win: five knockouts, three submissions, meaning 63% of his wins have come by KO. He debuted in June 2026 and stands 6 feet tall, three inches taller than the 5-foot-9 Sezinando. Sezinando's reach is 71 inches.

• Output: Berggren lands 3.49 significant strikes per minute at 36% accuracy; Sezinando lands 2.25 at 28%.
• Damage taken: Both have been hit often. Berggren absorbs 10.78 per minute with 34% strike defense. Sezinando absorbs 8.76 with 43%, nearly four times what he lands.
• Range: Berggren lands 87% of his significant strikes at distance and 13% in the clinch. Sezinando's split is 70-30.
• Wrestling: Sezinando averages 3.37 takedowns per 15 minutes at 25% accuracy and defends 67% of attempts against him. Berggren has yet to land a takedown.

One caveat: the UFC sample is small for both. Sezinando has landed 10 of 36 significant strikes in the Octagon, Berggren 23 of 64. Neither has a knockdown or a submission attempt on the books yet. What the numbers do show is that their fights don't drag on: Sezinando's average 4:27, Berggren's 6:35.

The key question: will Sezinando lean on his wrestling, the one weapon Berggren hasn't shown, or will this turn into a firefight between two men who get hit a lot and know how to end things?

A fight like this can be over in a flash, so be there when the card opens at 2 p.m. Get your seat: UFC Fight Night Las Vegas tickets.
