About ABHA Arena
ABHA Arena is the short name of the Ali Bin Hamad al-Attiyah Arena, an indoor sports hall in Doha. It opened in November 2014, built for the Qatar Olympic Committee to stage the 2015 World Men's Handball Championship, and has a capacity of 7,700. Day to day it is the home of Al Sadd's handball team.
The hall has a long list of world championships behind it: the 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships and the 2023 World Judo Championships were held here, and it is due to be one of the venues of the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup. On 22 November 2025 it staged the UFC's first event in Qatar.
The next card here on this storefront is UFC Fight Night on Saturday 21 November 2026. How the hall is set up around the octagon is decided by the promoter for each event.
Location and Setting
The arena is in the Doha area and is served by the Doha Metro: Al Sudan station on the Gold Line is close to it. The Gold Line crosses the city from east to west, from Ras Bu Aboud to Al Aziziyah, and meets the Red and Green lines at Msheireb, the hub of the network. Al Sudan station opened to the public on 21 November 2019, together with ten other Gold Line stations.
Hamad International Airport is connected to the same network: its Airport Terminal 1 station is on the Red Line, which also runs through Msheireb. The whole journey from the terminal to the arena can therefore be made by metro, with a single change.
Getting There
The nearest confirmed metro stop is Al Sudan station on the Gold Line, which is close to the arena.
Transport options:
- Metro — take the Gold Line towards Al Aziziyah and get off at Al Sudan. From other lines, change to the Gold Line at Msheireb, the interchange of the Red, Green and Gold lines
- From Hamad International Airport — the Red Line runs from the Airport Terminal 1 station to Msheireb, where you change to the Gold Line for Al Sudan
- By car — parking arrangements for the event are confirmed by the organiser
Ask for the arena under either name — ABHA Arena or Ali Bin Hamad al-Attiyah Arena — and plan to arrive well before the first bout.
Venue Facilities
ABHA Arena was built for the 2015 World Men's Handball Championship and cost 142 million US dollars. It is managed by Al-Sadd Sports Club, and beyond handball, boxing and judo it has hosted the 2016 Futsal Intercontinental Cup, the 2016 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals in table tennis and the 2016 FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Championships in chess. The ticket categories released for the UFC card are listed on the event page once sales open.
If you need step-free entry or an accessible place, write to our support team ahead of the date: the arrangements for each card are set by the organiser.
Entry conditions for the card, including any list of banned items and bag rules, are published by the organiser, and that list is the one that applies on the night.
Visiting Doha
In November the average daily high in Doha is 29.7 °C and the average low 22.0 °C, with about 11 mm of rain for the whole month — light clothing suits the evening outdoors.
The metro that brings you to the arena also reaches the rest of the city: the Gold Line continues east through Msheireb to the Souq Waqif and National Museum stations, and the Red Line links Msheireb with the airport. A hotel near a Gold Line or Red Line station keeps the journey to the arena simple.
Entry rules for Qatar depend on nationality, so check Qatar's government channels before booking travel. The date sits on the UFC 2026 schedule; the about the UFC page explains how a fight night runs, the venue overview lists the other host arenas, and the homepage is the way back to tickets.
