About Afterpay Arena

Afterpay Arena is the indoor arena of Sydney Olympic Park, the precinct built for the 2000 Summer Olympics. It opened on 6 November 1999 as the Sydney SuperDome and staged the Olympic basketball finals and the artistic and trampoline gymnastics a year later. Since then it has changed names several times — Acer Arena, Allphones Arena and, from 2016 to 2026, Qudos Bank Arena — and has carried the Afterpay Arena name since July 2026.

The arena has a capacity of 21,032. It is the home of the Sydney Kings of the NBL, whose attendance record here, 18,589, was set at Game 5 on 5 April 2026, and it also hosts concerts.

The arena has a long UFC record. UFC 110 was held here in February 2010, and the promotion has come back several times since, including UFC 293 in September 2023 and UFC 325 in February 2026. The next card on this storefront is UFC Fight Night Sydney on Sunday 7 February 2027. Its bouts have not been announced yet; how the hall is set up for the octagon is decided by the promoter for each event.

Location and Setting

The arena stands at 19 Edwin Flack Avenue in Sydney Olympic Park, about 13 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD in the City of Parramatta. It is not a city-centre venue: the precinct is a sports district with its own railway station and a ferry wharf nearby on the Parramatta River, and the arena site includes a 3,400-space car park. Its residential side is recent — the suburb had 65 residents in 2011 and 4,848 at the 2021 census.

Afterpay Arena shares the precinct with Stadium Australia, Sydney Showground Stadium and the Olympic aquatic, athletics, tennis and hockey centres. Before you set out, check whether another venue in the precinct has an event on the same date.

Getting There

The precinct has its own railway station. Olympic Park station, opened in March 1998, is an underground station inside the precinct, designed for crowds attending sporting events, so the whole trip from the city can be made by rail.

Transport options:

  • Train — the T7 Olympic Park Line runs regular services between Lidcombe and Olympic Park. Extra services run for major events, so check the Transport for NSW trip planner for your date
  • Ferry — regular ferries run between Sydney Olympic Park wharf on the Parramatta River and Sydney Harbour; plan the onward leg from the wharf into the precinct before you rely on it
  • By car — the arena site includes a 3,400-space car park; parking arrangements for a given event are confirmed by the organiser

UFC Fight Night Sydney is scheduled to start at 7:00 local time on a Sunday morning. Check the Sunday timetable for that date in advance and aim to be in the precinct well before the first bout.

Venue Facilities

The arena was built for the 2000 Olympics: ground was broken in September 1997, and the building cost $200 million. The 3,400-space car park on the site cost a further $25 million. Today the same hall is used for basketball, concerts and combat sports. The ticket categories released for a given card are listed on that event's page once sales open.

Accessible entry and seating for a specific date are confirmed by the organiser — contact our support team before the event if you need them.

Entry conditions for each event, including any list of prohibited items and bag rules, are set by the organiser. Check them in the event information before you leave for the arena.

Visiting Sydney

February is late summer in Sydney. At Observatory Hill in the city the average daily high is 26.8 °C and the average low 19.9 °C, and late summer is often humid. February averages around 131 mm of rain over about nine rainy days. A light rain jacket and a water bottle are worth carrying for the walk between the station and the arena.

A morning card leaves the rest of the day free, and the ferry from Sydney Olympic Park wharf links the precinct with Sydney Harbour if you want to make the journey part of the day out.

Entry requirements for Australia depend on nationality — check the Australian government's channels well before booking travel. Plan your trip with the UFC fight schedule, learn how a fight night works on the about the UFC page, see the other arenas on the venue overview, or go back to the homepage for tickets.
